When we talk about facing the Giants in our lives it sometimes puts a
question in our mind as to whether or not we can over come them.
Throughout time, many have faced giants. One of the most famous stories
ever told is about David and Goliath, the Philistine Giant. But there is
one story that sticks out greater in my mind tonight, so I just want to
take some time and share what God can do for you concerning Giants you may
face in your life.
God called Moses to lead the people out of
Egypt. This was a
great call at that. As the children of
Israel gathered
together and pursued their destiny under the leadership of Moses, they
face many challenges, heart aches, and pain. They made a choice to leave
everything behind and follow where God was leading them. As Christians,
and people in the world today, we often leave things behind us and press
for the new things in Christ. Many may consider this a Salvation
experience, but it continues after Salvation through your everyday walk
towards the
Promise
Land.
You know the story... They wondered about in the wilderness for forty
years in search of the promise God made to them. That promise was simply
that they would be free. If there was ever a time in the Earth, I believe
today people are looking for freedom above anything else. A place to
express themselves and worship God the way they need to with out
judgment. Sometimes we feel as though we have wondered ourselves to death
trying to figure this thing called life out. Nevertheless, we are driving
ourselves crazy in the process. Constantly groaning, complaining wondering
when the time will come. But Praise God anyway. Because with Him all
things are possible!
So the Children of Israel finally arrive to Cannon and Moses sends them
out to spy the land only to find there were Giants living in the land God
has promised them. I could take a rabbit trail here, but I'll pass at
this time. The Bible says in Numbers 13:33, "And there we saw the giants,
the sons of Anak, [which come] of the giants: and we were in our own sight
as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight." Some of you may have
arrived to your destiny only to find someone already there. But with the
Authority of God in me, I challenge you to "Face the Giants" I don't know
what your Giant maybe.... It could be your family, your finances, your
health, relationship... Whatever you are facing... Moreover, you know in
your heart what your Giant is.
The Bible continues to state the Children of Israel wept all night and
cried murmurs against Moses and Aaron for leading them to this. After all
they left behind... At least in
Egypt they had a
place to be buried. One of the greatest causes of failure is looking at
your circumstances and quitting! Press on! You can beat and you can
inhabit your
Promise
Land. It took the
Children of Israel many years after finding the Giants to possess the land
in which they were promised. Today, make a choice to Face the Giants and
enter into your
Promise
Land! |
